Introducing: Book of the Month

Introducing: Book of the Month

True story - I really hated reading growing up. Like from the time I learned to read until about 22, it was torture. I was (am) a slow reader, so it took me forever to get through books. It was just not fun for me.

Want to know a secret barely anyone knows? I scored a 19 (19!!) on the reading section the first time I took the ACT. To put it into perspective, I scored a 35 on the math section. That is how my brain works.

I’m glad you get me now.

As it turns out, I started enjoying reading at the age of 22. Which was, not so coincidentally, the first year of my life that no one forced me to read anything. I might have had issues growing up with authority figures telling me what to do.

All that being said, I now love reading books. Specifically those in the realm of non-fiction memoirs of interesting people, inspirational self-help, and motivating business books.

So…I want to share what I love with you!

Each month, I’ll be posting a favorite of mine on my Facebook and Instagram page. If it looks interesting, go check it out at your local library or buy it (I’ll include an Amazon link)

Here’s the Amazon twist - I’m using Amazon Affiliates to share the link. All that means is that, if you click the link and buy the book, I make something like 4% of the normal sale price on the book. My preference still that you go to your local library, because #yourbudget and #locallibrarylove

So let’s recap:

  1. I read and like books

  2. I tell you one of my absolute favorites

  3. If you want to read the book, you go to your library and get it. OR click on the Amazon link to buy it for the normal price Amazon charges.

  4. You get to read a really good book and get smarter and wiser, and Amazon gives me approximately $0.50 (two whole shiny quarters!)

  5. I give my 2 new shiny quarters to Squarespace (my website host)

  6. Squarespace doesn’t shut down my website because I’ve paid them

I can’t wait to share some favorites with you!
